We all know that Albuquerque does summer right! Have you been to any of our city’s spectacular summer events? It’s the best time of the year to get out and explore the city while connecting with your fellow friends and neighbors over some of the best entertainment Albuquerque has to offer!
Here are a few of our favorite events in the city this summer!
The Edgewood Arts & Music Festival
From July 28-29 at Wildlife West Nature Park, you will find this annual music festival featuring the best of bluegrass, acoustic, Western Swing, Irish, and many other genres! The amphitheater is fully covered to provide shade from the hot New Mexico sun while you listen to these one-of-a-kind tunes. Be sure to check out the zoo and the rest of the park between sets! The 19th Annual Great Southwestern Antique Show
This is the largest antique show in the Southwest featuring over 200 antique and fine art dealers, Native American and Western art, rare art, vintage art, and so much more! Not only can you purchase art and antiques but you can also learn about the art of purchasing antiques. Best of all, proceeds from the Antique Show benefit local nonprofits focused on local arts and education!

Downtown Summerfest
Summer festivals featuring local food and artists are the highlight of the season! Downtown Summerfest on Saturday, August 12 from 5 – 10:30 p.m. is loaded with food, music, local vendors, and more fun than you can possibly imagine! Food trucks and the Microbrew Garden provide local cuisine, local bands are featured for their excellent and diverse music, and be sure to stop by the artisan market to get your local art fix. There are also a ton of free kids’ activities for the little ones to enjoy all evening long!

The Macaroni & Cheese Festival
Now, as great as all of our Albuquerque events sound, we are the most excited for the Macaroni & Cheese Festival on August 19 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum. This is the third year of this festival where a variety of gourmet chefs will be preparing and sampling their best variations of everyone’s favorite food! The three winning chefs will receive a set of prizes and a trophy, but the real prize is being able to eat all of the mac & cheese!
